Divine law is any law that comes directly from the will of God, in contrast to man-made law. Like natural law (which may be seen as a manifestation of divine law) it is independent of the will of man, who cannot change it. However it may be revealed or not, so it may change in human perception in time through new revelation. Divine law is commonly equated with eternal law, meaning that if God is infinite, then his law must also be infinite and eternal.

In Thomas Aquinas's Treatise on Law, divine law, as opposed to natural law, comes only from revelation or scripture, hence biblical law, and is necessary for human salvation. According to Aquinas, divine law must not be confused with natural law. Divine law is mainly and mostly natural law, but it can also be positive law.
Urantia Book
God loves the sinner and hates the sin: such a statement is true philosophically, but God is a transcendent personality, and persons can only love and hate other persons. Sin is not a person. God loves the sinner because he is a personality reality (potentially eternal), while towards sin God strikes no personal attitude, for sin is not a spiritual reality; it is not personal; therefore does only the justice of God take cognizance of its existence. The love of God saves the sinner; the <u>law of God</u> destroys the sin. This attitude of the divine nature would apparently change if the sinner finally identified himself wholly with sin just as the same mortal mind may also fully identify itself with the indwelling spirit Adjuster. Such a sin-identified mortal would then become wholly unspiritual in nature (and therefore personally unreal) and would experience eventual extinction of being. Unreality, even incompleteness of creature nature, cannot exist forever in a progressively real and increasingly spiritual universe.- 2:6.8

The divine omnipotence is perfectly co-ordinated with the other attributes of the personality of God. The power of God is, ordinarily, only limited in its universe spiritual manifestation by three conditions or situations:

*1. By the nature of God, especially by his infinite love, by truth, beauty, and goodness.
*2. By the will of God, by his mercy ministry and fatherly relationship with the personalities of the universe.
*3. By the law of God, by the righteousness and justice of the eternal Paradise Trinity. - 3:2.14

When a brother acts insanely, he is offering you an opportunity to bless him. his need is yours. You need the blessing you can offer him. There is no way for you to have it except by giving it. This is the law of God, and it has no exceptions. What you deny you lack, not because it is lacking, but because you have denied it in another and are therefore not aware of it in yourself. Every response you make is determined by what you think you are, and what you want to be is what you think you are. What you want to be, then, must determine every response you make. - 7.7

Your peace lies in its limitlessness. Limit the peace you share, and your self
must be unknown to you. Every altar to God is part of you, because the light
he created is one with him. Would you cut off a brother from the light that
is yours? You would not do so if you realized that you can darken only your
own mind. As you bring him back, so will you return. That is the law of
God, for the protection of the wholeness of his Son. - 11.5

Those who remember always that they know nothing, and who have
become willing to learn everything, will learn it. But whenever they trust
themselves, they will not learn. They have destroyed their motivation for
learning by thinking they already know. Think not you understand anything
until you pass the test of perfect peace, for peace and understanding go
together and never can be found alone. Each brings the other with it, for it is
the law of God they be not separate. They are cause and effect, each to the
other, so where one is absent the other cannot be.-14.12

The only law of God is love. The only requirement the Father places upon his children is love. Let love then rule in your hearts. Let love be your requirement and allow the rest to fall away. - Ham

You know that real growth happens in the unseen, which manifests in the seen. This is the concept of thoughts held in mind, producing after their kind. It is the immutable law of God.. As above, so below. - Lytske
