Stu-mick-o-sucks, or Buffalo Bull's Back Fat, was the head chief of the Blackfoot Indians' Blood Tribe. His portrait was painted in 1832 by George Catlin. Within a few years, 6,000 of the 8,000 Bloods and other Blackfeet died from a smallpox pandemic brought to the northern plains by a steamboat traveling the Missouri River.
