Hebrew: אֶ֫רֶץ יִשְׂרָאֵל, Masoretic:ʼẸreṣ Yiśrāʼēl, Hebrew Academy: Éreẓ Yisraʼel, Yiddish: [ˈɛrɪts yɪsˈrɔɪl) is a term and concept in Judaism, Jewish culture and Jewish politics, indicating Jewish ethnic claims to the Mediterranean/Middle East territory referred to variously as Israel, Palestine, or the Levant, based on religious and historic traditions.[1]
