Description
A violation in legal terms is but a minor offense, sometimes called a summary offense aka a petty crime, but traditionally in religious contexts it is referred to as a desecration or the act of depriving something of its sacred character, or the disrespectful or contemptuous treatment of that which is held to be sacred or holy by a group or individual. In contemporary usage, it is sometimes a term indicative of rape, an violent assault involving sexual intercourse.
