The Library is a component of the University’s [[Information Technology Services]] division. The primary mission of the Library is to provide the members of the academic [[community]] with access to resources that support the current and anticipated instructional, [[research]], and service programs of the [[University of the South]]. It is the Library’s mission to provide instruction in the effective use of these resources, and to promote critical [[thinking]] and life-long learning, so that the Library is central to the [[education]]al mission of the University.

The [[Interlibrary Loan Service]] at the [[University of the South]] provides access to materials not held by duPont Library but which are held by other libraries in the [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_states United States]. Materials requested should be for class use and [[individual]] research. While some recreational materials are accepted, users are encouraged to use their public library facilities for these kinds of materials.
