Quote
“While the mind is not the seat of the spiritual nature, it is indeed the gateway thereto” (155:6.13).
Lesson
Teacher: “Let us elaborate upon the above quote. It may at first come as a surprise that the mind is not the seat of the spiritual nature, but its gateway. Indeed, it is up to all thinking individuals to choose how to orient their thinking — within or without, inner or outer. You could compare your mind to a satellite dish. Depending on how you orient it, you will pick up variety of mental input and feedback.

“Your thinking can lead you to an infinite array of topics and possibilities. It is a vehicle. Where is it taking you? Is it in a docile way bringing you closer to your spiritual nature or dangerously distancing you from it like a runaway wild horse in need of serious taming?

“This is the reason why your mind is not the seat of your spiritual nature — only a potential access door. Yet, there is much more to it since your mind works at multiple levels — conscious, subconscious and super-conscious. It is as if it were equipped with an inner elevator, meant to take you to higher levels of consciousness if you intentionally push the button to these higher floors by the setting of higher intentions. This is how it becomes the gateway to your spiritual nature — your higher self.

“As in everything pertaining to your life, the Father leaves it up to you to decide what you want to make out of it. Introspection is what allows you to make informed decisions as to the changes you would like to see occur in your character, which will eventually be reflected in your life experience. Do you want your life to be limited to an ephemeral sensory experience or do you wish for it to be the launching pad for an eternal spiritual experience? Isn’t it a decision of great magnitude and import as to your future destiny? Isn’t it worth stopping in your tracks in order to make a very informed decision as to whether or not you are heading in the right direction?
Closing
“You have been gifted with a Divine Fragment Who lives within you and is your very personal Eternal Life Coach. Are you oblivious to that fact or are you striving to establish a strong partnership with Spirit? Do you feel isolated and disconnected from others in your life experience or do you feel connected to a much greater family? Spirit will connect you with other spiritual beings. Spirit will activate your spiritual nature and mightily upgrade your human experience.

“You can live your life from the perspective of your physical embodiment or you can live it from the much higher and relevant perspective of your eternal spiritual nature, fostering its development and wisely investing in the enrichment of your soul. Which one will it be? Which one will bring the most dividends?”
