Thought Adjuster: “The things an individual chooses to focus their attention on determine their ability to receive spiritual influences. Throughout your life, your Adjuster and its associates in the spiritual ministry of perfecting you as a creature have been doing their utmost to bring you closer to the goal. They work with what they can use from your life experiences. Thus, gradually, your mind becomes more discerning in recognizing the influence of the spirit in your life, but this is only possible through your desire and intention to receive these influences.

Over time, humanity will discover how its brain and mind function. They already know that many stimuli they receive can be ignored if their attention is distracted elsewhere. Many things perceived by their senses never leave a trace in their consciousness. Something can happen before their eyes without their mind registering that event, even when the visual stimulus has been received. Right now, as you read these words, many other things are perceived by your vision, but because your attention is focused on this page, your mind completely ignores them.

The Master said, "Where a man's treasures are, there also will his heart be." Similarly, wherever the desire of the human will is, there their attention will be focused. Many of the spiritual impulses you receive daily have gone unnoticed in the past simply because your ear was not tuned to hear them. Through your desire to know God and understand His will, the Father through your Adjuster has a fuller opportunity to reach you and reveal to you the truths you need for your spiritual progress.

The process is truly simple, but the fuel that drives spiritual progress is faith. Faith is nothing more than the human desire to seek in the unknown the answers it wishes to find. It is through faith that the human mind reaches out to the spirit and thus receives what it needs for the nourishment and development of the soul. Faith is the love for spiritual things, the hopeful curiosity that focuses the attention of the human mind on the subtle whispers of God's presence in man. If you develop this curiosity and nurture the desire to know the Father and discover the shared purpose that your heavenly Father wishes to manifest through your existence – with your collaboration – you will receive everything you need to advance towards this eternal goal.”
