An idea is a form crafted by self-conscious mind through a process of reflection upon experience whether originating in an external environment or the inner life. Human ability to contemplate ideas is associated with reasoning and a capacity make direct application of the intellect. Ideas may also be developed into more formal concepts through sustained and systematic evaluation as a means for expressing knowledge.
