M.: Abraham, recently I have been following a [[path]] of Sita Yoga and it entails approaching [[meditation]] through [[chanting]], [[repetition]] of [[mantras]]. Today in letter one hundred I read that religious daydreaming can be [[dangerous]]. It cited these sorts of things. Should [[mantras]] and [[chanting]] be avoided?

ABRAHAM: Of course this choice is totally up to you. If they are helpful to you then [[feel]] [[free]] to use them. My [[recommendation]] would be just a [[stilling]] of the [[mind]], a relaxing of the body and the [[faith]] that Father be contacted through your inner [[desires]] and not through chanting. This [[custom]] is very old and as the world evolves we find that the old customs were not necessarily needed, and that the stilling, quieting of the [[mind]], is through your own [[desire]] and not a taming of the mind through [[repetitious]] [[chanting]]. Does this help?
