Since there is no discussion here or on ctc, and a public record exists, I feel obligated to comment, and as you have noticed, for the public record, I will insert such comments into a 'discussion page' committed to any given lesson. Any others whose thoughts are shared here on a given lesson, I will add to the 'discussion page' (unless requested otherwise) so as to offer unsuspecting readers a glimpse into the human reflections germane to the content supplied.

1) The 'lesson' opens with focus upon a commercial media event. That the Wal-Mart of the mind weighs on the mind of any TR is most unfortunate.

2) A question is offered that reveals the underlying assumption associating human expression attributed to divine beings as "inerrant". The question is:

Is there some way for celestial beings to correct these inconsistencies by correcting the mortal TR at the time this happens, so that these errors do not make it into the transcripts?

One can only wonder how long before human beings realize the basic lesson that whatever has touched human hands e.g. the human mind, is not only fallible, but inherently distorted albeit potentially of relative spiritual value.

3) To say that reading a broad array of literature that necessarily entails exercising discretion in selecting what is valued is "destructive" reveals the myopic vision typically associated with idolization of "inerrancy".

Comparing different group’s messages with each other is a “destructive” process of validation

In closing, I cannot help but observe that when the focus of devotion is on ritual performance instead of the unspeakable depth of spiritual communion, the ensuing communications suffer accordingly.--rdavis 23:53, 10 December 2014 (UTC)

I am reminded of Ham's comments regarding the greed associated with so many human claims upon the path of ascension.--rdavis 23:53, 10 December 2014 (UTC)

Humans may greedily seek ascension through their own means and it avails nothing. Mankind has a million ways to artificially ascend, individuals, groups, and nations, yet they all fall again. They may seek to be wise without experiencing wisdom; they may seek to teach truth without residing within it's heart; they may aspire to goodness without experiencing the spiritual, and they will fall back to their true level of maturity when the winds of adversity blow down their houses of cards. Wisdom is not contained in cleverness anymore than knowledge is contained in facts. - Ham

Today I gave some thought to Dr. Sadler's work with Houdini in debunking the seance experience in which people sought communication with their deceased relatives.

We have thus been taught in the Urantia Book that communication with those who have passed on is NOT a possibility. But now we have Jonathan, formerly of the North Idaho TeaM who died, being TRd in their TeaM sessions with the celestial teachers. This caused considerable doubt and concern to many of our fellows in the Teaching Mission.

My thinking about this brings me to the nature of mortal ignorance and our fundamental beliefs which must be buffered by humility and an unending search for truth. The enlarging exposition of cosmic reality is an eternal experience for each of us and we must remember that we are but fetal souls on a very dark world.

Thanks Marty! It is hard to have an open ended posture to truth as a progressive experience of discovery when the priority of focus is upon the literal rather than the experiential, the physical rather than the spiritual.
