BIG BANG EXPANSION SCENARIOS
The Universe is (1) open, (2) closed, or (3), flat, depending on whether the ratio of its actual density to the "critical density", called omega, is <1, >1, or precisely equal to 1. The "critical density" of the Universe is the density above which the Universe would go on expanding forever.
