Lesson

This is a lesson on direction -- the way you live and go about in life. At times, and for a great many, life makes no sense, and seems goal-less and purpose-less, so they live without direction day by day. They are not really unhappy, but not totally happy either. In a few words, they just ‘float on the surface of life’, not thinking too deeply and therefore not too troubled, either. On the other hand are the ‘dreamers,’ always questioning everything, and seemingly at war with themselves. Usually they have a hard time coping with the demands of life.

There are too many children still growing up in dysfunctional families, and depending on the severity of the dysfunction, this can leave a lasting impression on the psyches of the little ones. However, much can be remedied by the direction a little one takes through the choice and decision making process. The goals it sets for itself in early life, and if despite all influences and circumstances in life it holds on to a dream of hope to accomplish something worthwhile.

In this manner, it grows the so very necessary tenacious roots of hope and trust, that it shall be able to follow this dream despite all obstacles. This may take a long time, because of the handicaps of early childhood. However, over time potentials are turned into actuals and success is achieved, step by tiny step, until it overcomes the obstacles through much struggle and effort, and attains that which it has longed for, and the desired goal is reached. And yet, it will yearn for more, because ‘something is still missing.’

The main purpose of life is happiness, and all the wealth in the world cannot satisfy the longing in the human soul, although many start looking outside themselves for inner peace in the pursuit of happiness, which will elude them until they start looking within. The ‘dreamers,’ who deep within yearn to find this elusive happiness, have grown the strong roots of hope and trust, so they ‘gather up their belief system’ and start examining it, and find it lacking. Questions will now begin to form in the mind, and the course is set in the direction of faith in the mind, and the mortal finds himself or herself being tested, so these roots can grow stronger.

Acceptance dawns in the human mind when they find that there is a Power greater than themselves. Belief is turning into faith by this personal experience as the soul finds, and starts listening more clearly to, this Inner Compass, and follows directions more clearly according to the level of soul development. It finally realizes that this has been the purpose of life all along, and that it has been ‘mysteriously directed and led’ throughout life to finally realize that it, too, is an accepted and beloved child of the eternal God.
