Opening

Thuroc: “It’s so good to see you, too — well I left my ‘bride’ (Rihte) at home base. She is otherwise involved and I now miss the dear lady already. So you’ll forgive me when I suggest you stop dawdling and get about it. Get on with it. Like you, I have become a little less specific and rather than point at individuals, groups or nations, I talk of West and East or Left and Right.

Lesson

“It is so, I long ago found out, that things that don’t go well surprise you common mortals when you keep trying them to again end up with failure with a big F. OK, capitalize the whole word! FAILURE, thank you, that’s good. Is it the ultimate in insanity to think people won’t die in your wars and that such conflagrations ‘ain’t’ wholesale murder, produces no great losses and won’t rile the opposition? Your ‘elders’ may well see truth as treason, but don’t you believe it.

“I don’t believe truth is treason, my friends, no matter how many babbling media centers repeat the same lies word-for-word. It does have the result of pitting the majority of the uninformed against the minority of the enlightened ones. Nothing gets resolved. You will become poorer by the day; your children will get less of an education and your politicians will be able to buy a great deal more of the armaments you won’t need if you were doing a little more of your famous ‘parler,’ we suggest.

“There’s nowhere in the universe where I could benefit from a better — at least a more interesting — education than I receive on this planet. Urantia has it all. It has all the stomach aches you can deal with, all the heartaches to keep you on your toes, all the fear-mongering to keep you on your therapist’s couch and all the alcohol to keep, well — some of you, at least — in a permanent stupor, believing in the unofficial-official line that the crusades must never wane to become dead and buried.

“This all adds up to creating a shocking waste of worthless currency, but then . . . it’s worthless. And yes, the fashion in which some smaller countries are treated by the macho ones . . . it’s almost treasonous for the so-duped to still give the West a single thought. Only those who really know would see the point here.

Closing

“It’s good to be here and excellent for me to feel that you are not out-of-hand rejecting some of my more extreme views, but then, it is my job to make fools out of those who step forward to lead nations and create the failures with a big F, for I am Thuroc the Entertainer.
