Quote

“Trustworthiness is the true measure of self-mastery, character.” (UB, 28:6.13)

Lesson

Thought Adjuster: “The trust vested in you is the vote of confidence you receive from on high — your Maker — or ground zero — your planetary siblings. It reflects the level of responsibilities they currently deem you fit to handle.

“When multiple candidates compete for a particular position, a wise decision-maker will consider the applicants’ display of self-confidence (their ‘can-do’-spirit), check all provided character references, and scrutinize their track records.

“Responsibilities are weighty for those who have not have developed the backbone to ‘carry’ them out. If unwisely delegated, they may cause ‘response-disabilities’ instead of fostering ‘response-abilities.’

“When you fear that what is asked of you is beyond your pay grade, objectively assess whether taking on such challenges will contribute to the highest good of all involved parties or be detrimental by inflicting severe stress on both the ‘trustee’ and the ‘trustor,’ turning your assignment into a nightmarish ‘Mission Impossible’.

“How much do YOU trust YOURSELF? Candidly answer this fundamental question to determine whether signing up for additional responsibilities will strengthen your character by raising the ceiling of your accomplishments or crush your spirits by triggering debilitating panic attacks.”
