Transmitter: Do you know who Saint Paul is? He is also known as and prefers to be
called Saul of Tarsus, or translated as Paul of Tarsus. He wrote in the Bible the Book
called Ephesians, and several others maybe known to you. I speak of Saint Paul or
Paul of Tarsus, because I never heard better words than he spoke when addressed the
question of faith and how it happens to be the very thing the mind cannot find without
the help of your personality. Personality is separate from the mind, but it helps the mind
find God, and that is the idea that Paul taught the Romans and the people in the Roman
Empire over 2,000 years ago. These are things spoken as questions to me when Saint
Paul arrived in my mind for a lesson of faith and how we learn to use it.
PAUL Of TARSUS speaks: "I am Paul, Saint Paul some call me; but, I am really the guy from the little town of
Tarsus that sits on the Mediterranean, some fifty five miles from the capital of the
Roman Empire, Rome itself. I think Ron has it right about what you are trying to ask in
English, and it is, if we have it right, how does one come to believe in God, and how
does faith help us do that?
"In my day, I spoke when I was forming churches in the Roman Empire, to a little district
called Ephesia, and Ephesians almost all believed in Zorasterism, which is a belief in
God incarnate without a God in heaven.
"Zoroastranism, in that day was into sacrifices to the world of spirit that found its place in
Greece, and this Grecian place was called the Aphesis, which is another word for
training in the spirit world to speak prophecy from the great Zeus. Zeus was a made up
chief god that had nothing to do with the other gods except to see to it that they followed
the rules of being gods. Zeus, to Zoroastrians, was held in high esteem, except he did
not know where the house of the gods should be located. The Greeks wanted the
house of Zeus in Athens, and the Romans want the parthenon of gods to be in Rome.
They almost went to war over location, but finally the Greeks got their wish and built the
magnificent structure called the Parthenon in Athens itself.
"I tell you this because when I spoke to the Ephesians, they were not happy to learn that
in Rome a man named Peter lived and taught that Zeus could not do the things that
Jesus did, and that to hear Jesus, they would have to hear the Voice of God in their
minds. The Ephesians knew what this meant, and they were happy to hear they could
do this. But one day, one Ephesian known to me then as Jacob, talked to me about the
ladder to heaven he dreamed. That story is also in your Bible, and it came from my visit
to this area of the practice of Zoroastranism, I speak of today to you.
"Jacob, asked me what the dream meant? I told Jacob, that the ladder represented the
steps to hearing the Voice of God, and that to climb the ladder, one had to move from
the bottom rung to the highest rung on the ladder, and thereby become in touch with the
God of All, who inhabited all of the sky one could see. That touched Jacob, and he
asked where does God live? I told him that God lives in a grand house on a hill high
above the stars, and that he looks down on all of them and sees you, and when he sees
you, he says, why can I not talk to you Jacob?
"I told Jacob that he had to move quickly to find a ladder so grand, but if he could not
find such a ladder, open the door to your mind, and let the ladder grow in it, and when it
was tall enough, to climb it in your imagination, and visit with the God of All sitting above
all the stars at night and who sees you and wishes to talk with you. Jacob learned to be
a Christian, because he believed the ladder belonged to the God of All, and not to the
little god Zeus. To this day Jacob, climbs his ladder even though he has graduated to
the worlds beyond the mansion worlds, and he is a mighty force of belief to this day in
God's great house.
"We have now demonstrated how belief becomes available in a human mind. It
becomes available to the human mind by teaching the mind that it can reach the stars
and the God of All that sits in a grand place and who wishes to talk with you when you
are ready to listen. Faith, then, is that the grand God of All, can speak with the same
voice you hear when you tell yourself to wash your face or get the paper to read it. You
hear your thinking voice then, but the God of All speaks, you hear the thinking voice say
it without you having to say it yourself. This, when it happens, is the Voice of God, and
faith comes to the human mind when the Voice of God, says to you, hear me again
someday, and you and I will have another talk together. Your mind expects another
date with God, and that is faith. Trust is what occurs when God visits again and you
have your faith justified in his presence. You need no longer BELIEVE, because you
have proof in your own mind that God is real, and that God is truly a friend, and that he
can speak with you when you open the door to your mind to hear him. Jacob had to
climb the ladder in his mind to have faith justified; you, who read this, can replace belief
with faith when you say to the spirit of the Father, who lives in your mind, "Father,
behold my time with you! Father, live in me more and more! Father, take my hand and
give me the sustenance to hear your Voice daily in me! Father, I beseech you to see
me as I am, and that I may love you more than myself! Amen!"
"I am Paul of Tarsus, and I thank you for your ear. Good day!"
